well guys haven't been on here lately been posting pics on facebook more, wanted to show you guys my pair of 782's. There both CCC made one is yellow and white while the other is red , there both made in 1983 and only are 2000 apart from each other. Anyway I picked the red one up from a local used tractor guy and the other came from a cub cadet buddy (thanks Joe ). so now I have 2 identical machines other then the red one has different tires and 3 point hitch which ive added since posting pics of the tractor before. so hope you guys enjoy I also did a buff job on the yellow and white 782 just like the red one and I don't think it turned out to bad either.

the yellow and white 782 will be having a set of hub caps once they come in and the front set needs new clips which ive ordered , ive also cleaned it up but still deciding if it needs paint, not sure yet think ill leave it for now, it will need some dash repair work since the hood has cut through and it does smoke a little so a carb rebuild and run time might clean up the smoke, only has 977 hours on it but should pull the engine and clean the fins if dirty. the last pic shows how dirty the tractor was all over and it makes a big difference once it was buffy I since have removed the tape off the other side as well

Nice tractors. I like the look of the patina just cleaned and buffed.
I have always wondered about the larger blade in front. One of the nuiances of the 42" I have on mine is in deeper snow, when I back up and turn, it snags unplowed snow and can build it up and make backing up a pain. On the other hand, a wider blade would cut a wider swath to keep the tires on fresh scraped area as much as possible. Any thoughts on the tradeoff? (sounds like you have used both) (not sure what a '4 way plow' means? Hydraulic angle left/right then up/down? ) |

yea h4 way meaning hydraulic up/down and left/right. the 54 inch blade is so much better then the 42 it took forever to do the driveway with the 42 and yes the 54 does catch so snow on the side but I just angle the blade and don't have to many issues, I just have to figure which one has the 50 inch deck and which one has the 44 for this spring think ill put the big deck on the yellow since red has the plow.

Good looking 782's. I like the yellow and white one as is. When you paint one you hate to scratch it up.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
