Default Tiller Question - Pin Interference

I have a question about my tiller. It is a #2 mounted on a 1450. I bought both in a package deal a little over a year ago. This is the first time I had rear-mounted implements so I am unfamiliar with what is correct.

I got the tiller on the back of the 1450 and when I raised it there was interference with the 3 point pin and the tiller gearbox. I also noticed that the chains between the pin and tiller are not vertical; the pin appears to be too long. Here's s some pictures:

What is the length of a stock 3-point pin? I suspect mine is too long

I don't have a pin easy to get to at the moment to measure..... but how far off the ground is the tiller? Maybe it's just lifting too high? (Make chains longer?) I suspect your pin is too long also.

Pin is too long.
The TEE handle should just clear the center of the fender pan when the dish in the handle is cradled on the pin.
There is not much clearance between the tines and the ground when in the upright position and I think the set-up manual covers this. I have to lower the tiller to the ground, then put a 5/16" bolt through two of the lowest chain links I can get it through , then raise the tiller in order to get enough ground clearance to load the unit onto my trailer when it is installed on the Cub.
Then, when I get unloaded at the job site, it's a simple matter to remove the bolt in order to get maximum depth from the tiller when in the ground.

Also the hole in the OEM pin is elongated to allow fore and aft travel of the tee bolt.
I use a combo weight box and mule drive on my unit. Makes turning easier in soft ground w/the unit raised.
I would also advise down loading the manual fro your unit and printing it out for reference.

WORD OF CAUTION! DO NOT Get fingers/hands/etc near/between the tee handle and fender center while raising the tiller!!

I am going to make a pin for my tiller. Can you tell me the length of the slot? I assume it is 1/2" wide, is that correct?

The threaded rod is 1/2-13 NC so the slot must be wide enough to clear the threads. Guesstimating I'd say the slot is 5/8" to 11/16" long.

I make lift pins with drilled holes. I haven't had a complaint yet

I made a pin with drilled holes I use for my Brinley hitch that came with a scraper. The 1450 I bought came with the scraper and tiller but only one pin - it is the one in the pictures.

It looks like I'll have to get some more time on my friend's mill and make a pin for my tiller.

Slot is 3/4" inside.
