paint match
I have read on here that getting paint mixed to match a cub cadet is one of the best ways to get a nice paint job,my question is how can I get a good color match if the paint on my tractor is 45 years old faded and rusty what do I give the mixer-up-er for a sample? Thanks for your help

You can also use a compound like 3M's Perfect-It to "cut" the oxidized layer of paint off and it will bring the good stuff underneath back to life. You should be able to get a spot that will be good enough to do a paint match that way. I think the Cub brand paint is over priced and not all that great in the quality department.
Myself...I gave up on "correct" colors and don't really care if they are exact original colors or not. Close is good enough for me. I am also putting the spray gun away and will be doing my next one completely in powder coat. It helps that there is now an oven in the shop that is large enough to fit frames , hoods , fenders , decks , etc.
