Painting Options?
The brown truck is finally scheduled to arrive tomorrow with my order from XTREME Motorworks. What painting options/technologies would give the best adhesion without having problems of peeling, give a good finish without going exotic. I am just looking for plain old black. What have you guys had the best luck with? Primer, no primer, an initial etching of the parts? Rustoleum, rustoleum red primer?

I'd use epoxy primer, then acrylic enamel paint. Shot it with a hvlp paint gun. If you don't have any experience or access to the equipment you could rattle can it. Or take it to a body shop and have them paint it. That's my 2cts. What are you painting exactly?

you dont mention what your painting so i will assume its steel. start by scuffing it with a red scotch brite pad and then wipe it with degreaser( brake cleaner also works good) spray it with epoxy primer and then top coat with your color of choice. when it come to spray paint ive had good luck with rustoleum epoxy and paint.

If you want durable, Rust-Oleum industrial enamel, Lowes carries it in black and white around $6 a spray can. I made and painted a handrail for my dads house 3-4 years ago. No signs of chipping or rust, handrail is completely outside. I can't remember if I primed it, if so it would have been with a spray can, nothing fancy. It's the best results I've ever gotten from a spray can.

I have 3 sets of torque arms, 1 for the 1772, 1 for the 1572 and 1 for the 1872 and a 3-PT Cat 0 hitch for the 1772. From what Aaron told me,all items are shipped as bare steel.
