Default I couldn't resist another Cub: 1863

http://fargo.craigslist.org/grd/5346779064.html

I plan to put a QA42-A on it and try it out. I only wanted the 3pt. I know the owner and he offered it to me cheap. He replaced it with a used Craftsman that has a snow blower. I predict he will be calling me and wanting it back. We will see.

That bagger unit is far-out man.

Great score, keep it locked in your garage!

That's a great deal for the 1863. I'm pretty sure the
Qa42 won't work on there though. I mounted my qa42 on my 1864, and the PTO clutch does not line up with the pully on the blower and I believe the front left tire hit the safety guard but the 1863 didn't have power steering so that might be different. Maybe someone else can verify this. Thanks again Peter for sending me those pics.

I would say you stole the Cub! How's the Cadet running?

Great deal, I would have that machine in my barn too at that price.

You're welcome swacor! I forgot about that guard and left front. Maybe I'll be able to swap the front axle. We'll have to wait and see.

I don't know how it is running. I've only paid for it so far. I've never heard it run. I'm going to pick it up this afternoon. It's only 5 miles away. I now the owner and he says it runs fine. Like I said before, I expect he will want it back. I might say no, and offer him the 1811 if I can get the QA-42A to work on it. Anyways, I'll have the 3-point to use to maintain the driveway!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
