I picked up a garden planter today. Never seen one like it. Judging by how it's made, I'd say it is either a Sears, or a David Bradley. However, this one is green. All the ones I find pics of are orange... or just all rusty. Has a model number, 301B. Came with seed plates and the price was what I like to pay.... so, now it's mine. Anyone seen one before?
This is a picture of one, but not mine. I can't upload a pic from where I am, so I pulled one off the net. When I get home, I'll post actual pics. No, there was no info from the site I pulled the pic from. Or at least, I can't access it from work. They lock us out of all kinds of stuff here. ![]() planter.jpg |

I'm no help, but what is the yellow disc in the pic you posted?
Is it a marker for the next row? Edit: must be a coulter sorry. Would be cool though to have an arm come down like a big planter

I really don't know what the yellow disc is. I didn't get that with mine. I did get a whole stack of plates though, which is way better than the Brinly planter I've got..... I think it had a carrot plate (whatever it is, it's a small seed) with it when I got it. I did find a source for the plates... but by the time I buy 2, I'd have more in it than I paid for this one. Thinking I'll get a corn plate for the Brinly and use this one for all the other seed.
I like it. I really think it may be a pretty rare find because I just can't find any info on it. Both mine will have markers on them when I get them up and going.

Display,,, or use??
My Earthway amazes me EVERY year. My wife is convinced she can hand plant as good as the little push planter. At least 3 times we have planted the same bag of seeds,,, side by side. The Earthway ALWAYS produces better stands of crop. We have only planted corn, beans,,, and peas,,, I do not plant the other seed plate crops. The hand push planter is easily good for 2/10 acre garden. |

It does look similar..... but it is different. I'm really pretty sure it's a David Bradley.
However, Sears sold one that was 3pt mounted just like it. Where's Lew??? Check this out: planter2.jpg |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
