Default 450 blower on an IH 782

Hi,
Does anyone have an experience with a 450 snowblower on an IH 782? I am looking to pick one up, and looking for any experience of guys running the blower off the QA. I'm not home yet to see if it's got the mounting holes that it may/may not need like the CCC ones have.

The 450 should go right on the 782 with no issues.

No but when I was selling my 450 and asked what tractors it would fit Jon said "It's a long list. Basically, all GT's from the 82 series until the cyclops. Will fit some early cyclops that had the small PTO"

Thanks for replies. I am aware that the 450 will fit 82 series tractors. However, with mine being IH built and not CCC it does not have the mounting holes at the front. I am worried about the weight of the big 450 just hanging off the QA alone, wanted to see if anybody has done this successfully. Im not going to drill new holes on the tractor being that it is all original and I'm the second owner.
Thanks
Rick

IH built tractors should not have them unless PO has drilled them. I had to drill my 782 & my 982 to fit the 450 blower on so it wasn't just the QA holding onto it.

When I bought my 450 it didn't come with the bolts for the holes. I used it a while (can't remember how long) before I.... umm... used something else that works the same... and it was ok. Only issue I had was that it didn't lift as high as it does with the bolts in. They do make a difference. I will be totally honest, I didn't realize that the IH built machines didn't have the holes. I just never noticed. I had to go look at one of mine. That said, I understand completely you not wanting to modify your machine, but I really don't think that drilling holes in the frame for a blower will lessen the value of the machine any at all.

Thanks fellas , exactly what I needed to know. Sounds likes the mounting holes are a must for the 450. Jmech, I agree that drilling holes probably won't lessen the value but I can't bring myself to modify it, it's in awesome original shape. A crazy good deal on a 450 might change my mind, other than that I'll look for a qa42. Thanks

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
