I'm going to be picking up an 1872 on sunday that doesn't have a 3 point but I have in my possession the rear plate for a 782 which looks the same as the one on my 1811, since the 1872 is just a stretched 1811 I assume it will fit? Since the plate is all I have I will need to make the rest and I see the super has different lift arms but since this tractor doesn't have rear PTO can I just duplicate the arms from my 1811 or is there another reason that there different?

I think that the GT plate will work on an SGT, but not the other way around. The frame on the rear of an SGT is notched at the top, but again, I think it will work. You can copy your other hitch, the the SGT is heavier than the GT. Honestly the SGT hitch really was made much better than the GT.

As J mech said yes you can, I was able to use the rear plate from the doner 1811 to the 1872.

I had a three point on my 782, moved it to the 1772;

Thanks for the info guys. What about the sgt lift is stronger than the gt? Is the rear plate made stronger?

That's what I will be doing either way, all I have is the rear plate and I will have to make everything else but was curious what exactly made one better than the other. The way the sgt arms are bent I can see why they used heavier steel because with that much bend in them they need all the strength they can get.
