I'm going to be picking up an 1872 on sunday that doesn't have a 3 point but I have in my possession the rear plate for a 782 which looks the same as the one on my 1811, since the 1872 is just a stretched 1811 I assume it will fit? Since the plate is all I have I will need to make the rest and I see the super has different lift arms but since this tractor doesn't have rear PTO can I just duplicate the arms from my 1811 or is there another reason that there different?

I think that the GT plate will work on an SGT, but not the other way around. The frame on the rear of an SGT is notched at the top, but again, I think it will work. You can copy your other hitch, the the SGT is heavier than the GT. Honestly the SGT hitch really was made much better than the GT.

As J mech said yes you can, I was able to use the rear plate from the doner 1811 to the 1872.

It will fit, but what JMech said is true.

I'm using mine with a back blade, clearing snow. (not like tilling or anything) it is working well.

Thanks for the info guys. What about the sgt lift is stronger than the gt? Is the rear plate made stronger?

My observations are purely that. Just from looking at photos of the SGT ones, the lower arms seem to be made of heavier stock?

I've never seen one in person, I just trust what JMech said.

In my case I was just using what I already had.

That's what I will be doing either way, all I have is the rear plate and I will have to make everything else but was curious what exactly made one better than the other. The way the sgt arms are bent I can see why they used heavier steel because with that much bend in them they need all the strength they can get.

I have both styles of three point hitches here, I can show you both so you can see the differences. One is on a 782, other on a 2072. The gt hitch will work on an SGT...you just need a longer lifting bar which xtreme has. You'll see when you come pick it up.
