Last year plow setup worked ok, but a hydraulic setup would work much better. The old setup used a winch which has a little too much drift and you had to get off the machine to angle the plow (PITA).
125Plow5.jpg My friend saw a 105 and asked if I was interested in going to look at it. When we went to see it, the people said it didn't run and there was a plow setting on the junk pile. they asked how much I would give and I said $100.00 for the tractor and the plow. They said ok get it out of here (they were going to scrap it). [105Start.jpg 105Start2.jpg I cleaned the plow and did a mock up to see how it would go together. here's the parts I used. PlowParts01.jpgPlowMockup01.jpgPlowMockup01A.jpgPlowMockup01E.jpgPlowMockup01D.jpgPlowMockup01F.jpg Next was to paint the parts. PlowPaint02A.jpgPlowPaint02B.jpg After some trial and error, I found a place for the pump, control valve and reservoir tank. HYDRAULICGEARPUMP.jpg Chief 2 spoolfloat.jpgHydraulicOilTank.jpg Things are coming together. PlowHyd01B3.jpgPlowHyd01C.jpgPlowHyd01A.jpg PlowHyd01B.jpgPlowHyd01B2.jpg Install the plow and cylinders. PlowInstall01B.jpgPlowInstall01C.jpg PlowReadyA.jpgPlowReadyB.jpg Take it outside to see if it works. PlowReadyC.jpgPlowReadyD.jpg Yup, works good. Moves ground and the power angle works great. Happy, happy, happy. ![]() Only one problem, the cylinder for up and down is too slow on the float for plowing snow (ok for ground work). I put a smaller cylinder on it, now it's fine. PlowReadyModB.jpgPlowReadyModC.jpg Attachment 71431 Let it snow, I'm ready. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
