Default Looking into 782 at auction

I am going to an auction this weekend and stopped for a sneak peak. Seen this 782 and was wondering what would be a fair price. The sickle bar mower is with a separate lot. Any feed back would be great.

Does it have the front hydraulic outlets and cylinder on the blade? Could look worse. Hood is off kilter. What engine? How many hours? Be careful. Has a sleeve hitch? Does it have a cast iron rear end?

The snow blade looks like an off brand that has been rigged on, hopefully they didn't modify the frame. If the blower turns free its worth atleast $200, if the deck is fairly rust free with good spindles its worth $150 to $200. The tractor has a rear lift and I've seen the ones from 782s go as high as $250, if the engine turns free it will probably run but how well is anybody's guess. If you could get it all for $500 or less that would probably be fair but just keep in mind that non running tractors can hide alot of surprises.

Thanks. I will take a closer look at it later if all goes good here, I am at hospital waiting to be taken into surgery. I have a "stone" blocking my saliva gland duct. Calcium build up. Blocks off the duct so if i think about food or what ever makes my mouth water the gland will fill up and looks like a golf ball under my jaw bone! Hurts like hell and only way to get relief is to turn the stone and let salive pass. Thanks again!!

Sorry to hear about your condition; that must be painful.

On the 782 at auction, as you probably know, it doesn't matter what a fair price is, it's "what are you willing to pay out and be happy" --that is the issue. You're not dealing with an owner here, but perhaps 2 or more other guys all wanting to be the new owner. That scenario can blow "fair" right out of the water...

...then again, you might be able to pick it up for cheap if no one else is that interested. That's why we go to auctions, isn't it?

Like others wrote, if you don't know any particulars, it's difficult to say what is a fair price. Hope you're feeling well enough to attend and that you win the bid.

Looks like the fender pan has been cut by the rear lift. So something probably is incorrect with the rear lift if they needed to notch the fender

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
