Gt 1554
I am new to this forum. Can I utilize your help in determining why my lawnmower isn't turning over? I thought it was the battery, and purchased a new one. When I turned over the key - nothing. What are my next steps? Solenoid? Starter? Would appreciate your help.

First, welcome to OCC....
 Generally speaking, in order for the Starter to engage, the operator has to be in the seat, brake pedal depressed, and the PTO Switch is in the off position. Has that been done...???

Make sure the new battery is charged. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's fully charged, ask me how I know.

Check main fuse. Should be under the hood somewhere close to the battery.

Are your safety switches working? A switch may be bad, whatever mechanically compresses the switch may not be doing so (broke, out of adjustment). May have to just start tracing where you have current.
