Default Why? - IH pickup

Don't know if anyone likes IH pickup here but for me, aside from cubs, I'm a collector and preserver of 50's IH pickups. I have 2 in in the same shape they were 40 years ago when the farmer quite using them and 2 wrecked ones in hopes of become one complete truck some day. Randomly I do a scroll of craigslist to see if anything pops up in. Found this today and well...take a look for yourself but be warned. I saw in another post with a discussion in it about being a purist or modifier of cubs. Though this is a good reason in my book to be against being the latter.

To me, these trucks have worked hard all their lives and deserve to be preserved and not molested in this manner. Just my opinion. To me, this is how they should look and how mine will stay.

That just makes me sick. I see this all the time. Might as well call it a rat rod? They look wonderful original and 50's auto's of any kind is hard to find.
Coates00 trucks look great. I sure would be proud to own one. What power plant is in them?

Really great looking trucks! Thanks for sharing pictures of the ones you have. And it is a nasty hack job on the one from CL.

Wow!! What a POS!!
If You are anywhere Omaha, stop by the Navistar truck dealer there on I street
They have a beautiful 1-1/2 ton on their show room floor, Id say late 40'sm early 50's

There was a truck like that sitting alongside US hwy 20, west of Dubuque, IA most of last year. I'll have to see if it's still there next time I go that way.

I figured it was from Canada, but he did say converted back.
Maybe he was a mail man?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
