Cleaning grease from engine and frame

Maybe it has been covered here before. but I cant find any info on it. I was wandering what are the pros and cons of using oven cleaner to clean the stubborn grease left behind after pressure washing.

First, I would not recommend that you pressure wash your engine because of all of the seals, since forced water will work its way beyond the seals and into your engine. Second, I do not personally use oven cleaner, but Super Kleen (the purple stuff at Wal-Mart). Others will use Simple Green or some other degreaser that does a comparable job. Whatever you choose, for your own protection and safety, wear goggles, gloves and protective covers for your skin. Any degreaser will also remove the oils from your skin, which of course is quite dangerous....not to mention if you wear contacts or get some in your eye, even a mist of it, can be dangerous.

After you spray on the degreaser and give it a moment to penetrate, you can rinse it off with a spray bottle or a simple garden hose. Repeat application as you need to.

I use purple power and a pressure washer, none of the seals on a Kohler are out in the open so they can't be sprayed directly so I think that's a non issue.

Yes pressure washer is fine. I've said before to be careful of some of the more potent cleaners as they will take the paint off your data plate ask me how I know.

The best thing I have found to clean up an old Cub is to spray the crud with Castrol Super Clean and let it soak. While you're waiting hook your hose up to your hot water heater and let her rip. If it's not gone on the first try, shouldn't take much more than that to make it all gone.

I have a pressure washer but don't need it to clean up an old Cub.

I have never investigated this but an old coworker would use shout laundry stain remover. His claim was it used the same ingredients as engine de-greaser.

I just use degreaser...... Oven cleaner is for ovens.
