Came across this website. Isavetractors.com Anyone ever used their products?
http://isavetractors.com/internal-en...e-rebuild-kit/ I realize it is all after market stuff. That Ultimate rebuild kit sure seems affordable.

That's probably a decent price since it has includes a carb, coil and crank bearings. I wonder how many gaskets/shims it comes with for setting the crankshaft endplay.

Steve, everyone knows I'm all about a good deal, but that one is just a little too good. The carb and bearings are about half the price of that kit, let alone all the rest..... even in aftermarket prices. Thye must buy truckloads of the cheap stuff to be able to sell all of that for that price. Or they buy the junk stuff. I'd be leery.....
Most of the time when you rebuild a motor, you don't need all that stuff..... you little 8hp that ate dirt is a different story. But, I would stick to the guy on ebay I recommend. I know his kit all too well, and it's worth the money. Too cheap isn't always good. |

He advertises in Lawn and Garden Tractor magazine, thats all I know about him. His prices may be to good to be true, or like was said, he buys in BULK and has minimal overhead. To be honest it will probably be a couple years before enough of his stuff gets in circulation to know if it is any good.
I used Jmech's supplier for piston and rings for my Magnum. Parts look good, no name on anything though. I did find a machining chip in a piston ring groove, no big deal as long as you look at your parts. Here is my take on what "grade" of parts to buy. If you are going to run the crap out of a machine actually using it and using it a LOT, then use OEM and leave no stone un-turned. If you won't be running it a whole lot, go with mid grade. If you won't run it 1 hr a year and that will be only to load an unload off a trailer at an antique show, use the cheapest parts you can find and pour your money into paint. Back to your question, I too wonder about the quality of his parts because those prices are mighty tempting. I'll be glad to hear reviews on his items, good or bad.

I've bought wheel bearings, coil, and sediment bowl from him. Really nice guy, sounds like he works out of his house. I've bought 2 rebuild kits from the guy jmech uses. Great guy too. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from either. The I save tractors guy has some good videos on YouTube

Just search eBay for rebuild kits for your engine. Sellers name is bakt4kids. Go to his page and you'll find everything he sells. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
