I'm looking at a Cub Low Boy 154
I am looking to buy a Cub Low Boy 154. I believe this is a 1972 I have to recheck the serial number. Tractor has a 60 inch mower under it that needs a spindle replaced. Starts good clutch feels strong and PTO is fairly quiet. Is there anything else I should be looking for? Starter generator just rebuilt and carb has also been rebuilt. Seller is letting it go dirt cheap and I think it is a good buy. I just don't really know a lot about them in general. I already know they are under powered just looking for a mowing tractor and stumbled into this one. Any advise please post your response here.

Sounds like your main trouble areas are in good shape. Only thing I'd look for is the clutch brake buttons, two nylon tabs on the back of the clutch that stop the clutch from spinning so you can shift. If you can't see them, check by pressing the clutch down while the engine is running, if the clutch stops spinning quickly, you're in good shape. If it takes a long time to spin down, they need replacing or adjusting. Underpowered or not, they are nice!
