Default 38" deck on a QL

For a few reasons, I want to swap out my 50A deck on my 1450 for a smaller one. I am looking for a 44" or 38", and have found a 38C from a user here.

Anyone run a 38" deck on a QL? Is it a good fit? I know I will have to make some belt and pulley changes, but other than that, I think it should attach just fine.

Thanks!

My 1650 came with a 38 inch deck when I first got it. Was too small for tractor and I fount a 50a for it and wouldnt use anything else. The 44a and 50a decks do a great job mowing and seem to work better for me on the quiteline tractors.

Explain 'too small'. Sounds like it was a preference more than an actual issue?

The 50A is just too big for my yard and it doesn't fit through my shed door. It mows wonderfully, and quickly, but is just too much. I am willing to sacrifice time to mow for not having to take that deck off everytime I finish with it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
