Hey, I had a friend call me and offer me the chance to become the proud owner of a 1450. After looking it over and hearing a very fair price, which I negotiated to make it $20 more (sorry Uncle Lewy, guess the negotiating gene skipped me!) since he is one of my pushers for this cub junkie and a friend, I became the owner. It's missing some parts, most of which I think my 1200, which is down with a messed up drive line and is a smoker anyway, will donate. Going to put my $14.33 investment of a carb on it. It has really good compression and the paint looks like it has been well taken care of, at least until the original owner "tried" to fix it. Well, say hello to my lil' friend, my first 1450...…I also put a picture of the Weinermobile, as it is cook-out/grillin' season!!!!
Oh, when I went to pick it up, I had to replace the front tires since I remembered the original ones did not have any bearings, so I packed up some narrow ones with 3/4" bearings. They did not fit on the 1" spindles on the tractor. Luckily, I had purchased some 1" bushings at a past swap meet that I just had in my truck. So, here is my question....I thought the only 1" spindles were on the O's and the 82 series IH tractors. Never thought they were on the 1450's. So, were these spindles added or were they stock on the tractor? Thanks for considering the previous question...… Cub Cadet 123

There was a serial number break in the QL series on the spindles. Early ones were 3/4", later ones 1".
I thought the early O's had 1/2" or 5/8" spundles, not 1".....?? ![]() Congrats on another tractor! I just got me a 1450 too...... for parts.

IIRR the early 1450's had 3/4" spindles and small filler neck/cap on the fuel tank, as Jon mentioned--- my 1650 did before I changed them.
You will prolly be going through the rubberbabybuggybumper iso mounts as well as the loose cradle-to-oil pan bolts .

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
