Default Question about front deck hangers. 38"-48" "triangle shaped" decks.

I have a question regarding the front deck hangers on the 48" triangular shaped deck.
I picked up a 48" deck from a fellow about a month ago (the ID tag is missing, but is for sure a 48"). It came with everything but the front hangers. Are there different front hangers per size of deck for these series of decks? These are the late 60's to early 70's style with non-cast iron ends, but cast iron front nose section.

Currently I'm borrowing the front hangers off of my 38" deck. They seem to fit OK, I suppose. But, I'd like to pick up another set, or the proper ones if that's the case.

Thanks for any help.

Default Older deck question

The 38" and 42" decks use the same nose piece but the 48" is different. I purchased a 48" off of ebay and when I received it, it wouldn't bolt up. The shipping was going to be more than I paid for the part, so into my parts bin it went. My problem was that the bolt holes on the front side weren't wide enough to bolt on. Maybe someone else has had a better experience with this and will chime in soon.

FFGino, Happy Cubbing!

one thing i do know is that parts for the 38 and the 42 do interchange from the nose piece to the hangers and the spindles, i was told that parts for the 48 only fit the 48

My understanding is that the 38" and 42" use one muel drive, and 44" up decks use another.

I'm sorry guys, I probably should have been a little more clear. It is not the cast iron nose piece that I'm referring to, but the front clevis.

To the best of my knowledge there are two different styles of clevis (for that time period of deck) they look different but I believe they measure the same.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
