Nah, most of us haven't got 18 HP engines! Besides, there's nothing wrong with a good Simplicity either..

How are ya gonna fit that in a 123?...Gonna have to mod the frame or are you changing out the flywheel, etc?

I don't think the block will fit anyway...that's one of the wide base versions. If there isn't an "A" in the model number (as in K361A) it will not work anyway.

What on earth do you want that in there for, anyway? A good, strong 12 hp will do everything you need it to, and shake a lot less than that K361, for which many parts are NLA.

Actually those blocks will work with a little time on a mill. Most are already drilled for the cub cadet oil pan,and if not the blocks have stock where needed to do so. Then by filling in the windows on the two sides ( either by welding or making inserts) and milling the ears of they are no different than the A series. I do not know if the frame will need clearanced or not on a 123. But I know they will fit in a spreadframe.

I would like to find a complete 18. The one I have is missing the head and carb. Then I would put it in my 1211.

i got the cub from my grandfather. i remember riding with him on it around the farm when he couldn't walk so good. he is long past and i want to restore it while still being able to use it to its full potential. the cub has a briggs 8 hp in it right now and the frame is already modified. so since its modified already ill just widen it a little and make it work. the 18hp i got for free from a buddy and all it is missing is a carb. i have gotten a carb from a same era 14hp and i was hoping that will work.

i don't have a deck or anything for the tractor so im just going to use it to pull things around the yard. but realistically it will just sit and look pretty and ill drive it when i feel like it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
