I will never forget...
Just occurred to me that today is Sept 11. To those who lost someone, and to those who died, may they rest in peace. To those who have served this great country, and to those who do, thank you for all you do and have done. This day in history marks a real turning point in how Americans live. The world changed on Sept 11, 2001. I will never forget this date. What I was doing, where I was.... how it felt.
I was working for Case IH as a mechanic in Casey, Il. It was any other normal day at work until we got word that something was going on in New York. The world stopped. We spent the rest of the day huddled around radio's and a TV that we found and got hooked up to pick up the news. We all just watched. About 15 of us huddled around the TV. Watching. Listening. Just in shock. We didn't know what was going to happen next. As the day went on, and into night.... then the next day and even the next several. I just kept wondering if there was more coming. If we were safe. People in other places have to deal with fighting/war on a regular basis.... but not here, in America. Thank God we live where we don't have to worry about it.... or at least we don't think we do. So far, our powers at be have kept us all safe. Let's not forget the day that we weren't, and what it felt like so that it may never happen again. Where were you? God Bless the USA.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
