105 points push rod oil leak
I am replacing the points push rod on our 105. Hope a new one does not let oil into the points cover ares. The oil seems to make the points “unhappy” Anyone else have the same problem? Thanks.

The Aluminum Push Rod is softer than the Cast Iron in the engine block, thus if there is any wear, the push rod would be the first to go. Installing a new push rod "should" remedy the problem.

If you still have leakage after replacement, check that your crankcase breather is not plugged.
Also, an engine that is well worn will have excessive blowby sometimes causing oil pushed by the point pushrod as well as the governor pivot.
