Hey it’s been a while but I need help finding a bolt for my 1960ish IH CC 102. The bolt is for the oil pan I thought I would ask around here because the tractor is put away for the season at my cabin. The cabin is also closed for the season to so I thought this would be a good time of year to ask around because I won’t be up there until the spring or summer. Also the only reason I’m asking about the oil pan bolt is because when the tractor was sitting for the 10 plus years in the shed before I got it running again this past summer, something made the bolt hard to unscrew so the head of the bolt almost got striped due to me having to use a wrench to un do the bolt. I hope you guys can help me out I would really appreciate it.

IF.....it were me, I would use a torch to heat up the head of the Bolt.

Are you looking for the drainplug or the bolts that attach the pan to the block?

Roland,
There is some screw up on the CC parts site. I noticed it last week looking at a 102 pan gasket, they do show one not for a cub cadet 102, looks like a K181 one.

Lew:
That image is from the Kohler Site. Much more clear than the CC site.

Sounds like he needs a new drain plug. Pretty sure it's a 3/8-18 square head pipe plug.
Just go to any hardware store, ask for a 3/8" MIP (male iron pipe) plug. Male refers to external threads. (female being internal threads). Male Iron Pipe/Female Iron Pipe--MIP/FIP is a standard type of tapered thread used for galvanized and black iron pipe fittings. MIP/FIP fittings come in 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, etc. sizes. You need a square head plug, size 3/8 MIP. Unless someone somewhere along the line changed the plug to a different size! Or, order from Cub Cadet part Part Number:KH-25-139-57-S, which is a hex head plug. Cabincub, just so you can learn, if you go to cubcadet.com and enter your model number (102) you can look at all the parts for your tractor--there are diagrams and parts lists. Just so happens that the diagram does not show the plug, but it is listed in the parts listing below the diagram for the engine assembly. Partstree.com is another place to go do the same thing.

Roland I think what Lew is saying is that the image posted is incorrect. That style of pan is for a k161/181 with drain plug on the end and bolts that go down into the pan. 241 has threaded holes in the bottom of the pan and the bolts come from underneath to hold pan to block as well as pan to frame. Also drain plug is on the bottom.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
