Default New York Pageant of Steam

New York Steam Engine Association
Demonstrating the past to educate the future.

The N. Y. S. E. A. was formed in Canandaigua, New York in 1960 to promote and encourage interest in the operation, ownership, and preservation of antique vehicles powered by steam or otherwise. The first eleven years of the show were held at different locations, one of which was Roseland Park.

In 1971, 28 acres were purchased on Gehan Rd. Today, after many hours and a lot of effort by officers and members, the show now covers 100 acres.

ACecil it's a huge show and better yet this years featured tractors are IH. Don't get any better than that. It takes a full 10 hr day to see everything providing the wife doesn't decide to go then it takes 2 days. haha

I'll be there one of the days...not sure which one yet. Good thing is it 20 minutes from my house :biggrin2.gif:

It is quite the show, I encourage any member who's close enough to make a day of it. You wont be disappointed!

I met up with cubs-n-bxrs at the Steam Pageant on Saturday...we walked, talked cubs, and checked out some of the great tractors on display as well as caught a little bit of the garden tractor pulls. We saw literally hundreds of Cub Cadets on display, including Tim Delooza's re-creation of the prototype Cubette. We had a great time! I snapped a few pics, but it was so dusty, and the wind was blowing pretty good, so I put my camera in the truck after taking these pics.....

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
