147 Speed Control Handle Stuck
Hey all. I just picked up a nice old 147 that I'm trying to get rolling. My first big challenge is the speed control handle seems to be stuck (in neutral). I read through some posts here where others have had the same problem and it seems like there is an adjustment nut on the bottom of the shaft that may need to be loosened? After pulling the battery I can see this nut but can't get a wrench in there. I assume the dash tower needs to come off (or at least up) to get at it? If so can anybody enlighten me on that procedure? And if not how to I get at that thing? Thanks guys - pics to follow....

First thing.....
 In my book there no such thing as a dumb question. So ask away. First thing I would is download a manual for your 147. Manual can be found in our tech section: https://s3.us-east-2.amazonaws.com/c...ervice+Man.pdf The first place I would look in the brake pedal is up and linkage isn't in a bind.

Good point Mr Cooperino but prolly rusted up. PB blaster sprayed liberally in the area between the spring and the nut will help. If you can wack the handle with a dead blow hammer on the top it may get it free enough to move the handle up and down until it moves freely.
No need to remove the dash tower.

Thanks for all the suggestions (and the link to the manual!) Darkminion takes it...I had PB'd the crap out of it but was hesitant to really force it, with your encouragement I leaned into it and it actually came free fairly easily.
On an unrelated note, I got this plow with it. Anybody know at a glance what model it is (no ID plate) and if it is in fact compatible with my 147? Thanks again fellas...

That 42" dozer blade will work with your tractor, I see the lift rod is on the tractor, a plus!!!

Nice looking 147!! One of my favorites models. Last year of the narrow frame! With the electric lift sweet! Your hood does not look match that year tractor. Anyways, cool find!
