Default A Little Help Identifying?

This piece of sheet metal came with some parts that were "thrown in" with a Cub Cadet I bought some years ago. It is not part of that tractor, and it doesn't seem to fit on any Cub Cadet tractor that I am familiar with, yet it clearly appears to be a Cub Cadet part. Maybe for a tractor, maybe an attachment or implement, I don't know. I submit it for evaluation by those on here, since there are many on here who know more about Cub Cadet parts than I ever will.

Can anybody identify what this is, and what it fits?

Then, is it anything somebody needs?

Wow! No wonder it doesn't fit anything I have. It came as part of a handful of "throw-in" parts that came with a very dead 123. They told me that it went on the tractor somewhere. I didn't really look at the extra stuff when I picked up the 123 because it was raining and I didn't care to waste time getting wet.

When I got it home and unloaded, I couldn't see anywhere it might go, so I put it in with other spare parts and forgot about it until I found it the other day while looking for something else.

So, I wonder if anybody needs a bottom access panel for a walk behind 268 snow thrower? I know where they can find one.

Thanks for the ID.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
