I recently bought a 2084 which I understand is a Super Garden Tractor.
I also have an 1864 which I always thought was a SGT. The differences are pretty minor - The 2084 has 2 more HP, a wider rear track, and no CAT-0. The 1864 looks to be the same size, though it's 100 lbs lighter and has the CAT-0. So what makes the 2084 a Super, and the 1864 not a Super? |

Generally Speaking------
(A) 20+ Horse Power (some 15 & 17HP Diesels and a few 18HP gas engines) (B) Longer frame (front to back, about 7 " longer) (C) Higher stance. (18 x 8.50 -8 Front tires, 26 x 12.00 -12 Rear tires) (D) Rear PTO

It sounds like the 3 point is what is confusing you. The 3 points were an option for both the SGT and regular GTs. Your 1864 just happens to have an option the 2084 does not.

The rear PTO was also an option. My 982 does not have a rear PTO, but is still a SGT.

Longer wheel base indicated by the longer tunnel cover

Today I measured the wheelbase 7” longer.
And the rear tires are 26” vs 23” on the 1864. I *thought* it looked a bit large when I picked it up . I arrived with a 4x8 trailer and was afraid I had misunderestimated. So, will the cat-0 transfer from the 1864 to the 2084? That might make more sense for my needs. I hate removing that mower deck to use the tractor like a tractor. |

The cat 0 will fit but you will need a longer lift bar.
Xtreme sells them or maybe you can find a used one. http://www.xtrememotorworks.com/Part...Cub-Cadet.html

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
