Default 1250 parasitic battery drain

It seems like i have somehow aquired a parasitic drain on my battery after doing some repairs. I had the fender pan and tunnel cover off to work on the hydro linkage and weld up the trunnion. Put it all back together and fired it up then it sat for a few days. Today the battery was lifeless. Jumped it and fired it up and noticed on the gauge that it continues to charge. Shut it off and the battery will slowly drain. If i disconnect the battery it will stop draining. I checked the red wire and there is no knicks in it on the entire length. Should i be looking at the regulator as the possible culprit?

Remove the battery cable,,
hook a 12V lightbulb between the battery, and the removed cable.

If there is a parasitic draw, the light will illuminate,

When you find the problem, the light will go out,,,

Not necessarily. I know i have a draw but its not enough to get my light going. Its a draw of .10v-.12v. I just noticed on the side of the motor it says to disconnect regulator while welding and fast charging. I welded my trunion and this started happening. So im guessing its my regulator unless someone can tell me something im not thinking if.

Roland lists a test procedure on page 5 of the Technical section - Tractors. Solid state charging system.

Wow ok so I deffinitely dont have a regulator that looks anything like that. The one i have on my 1250 looks more similar to the one on my 1970 chevy pickup.

That's your starter relay, no?

Here's the one on my 1650. Should be the same as yours.

Always a good idea to disconnect the battery when welding on a machine.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
