Default 1811 hydro
It starts when cold, and wont when hot. I'm sure it is a coil, but am wondering if there is an adjustable gap between the magnets and the pick up. Also, the parts manual shows a rectifier, is this for the ignition or charging system.

sooo, is the coil in a fixed position, or is it adjustable to advance or retard timing?

You can't change the timing. If it won't start when it's hot (and it's because you have no spark) the magneto is shot and it's time for a new one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester.
