Default Hello All!!!!

GREAT site and I just want to say hello! For 19yrs Ive owed a 982 that has never let me down! Just wanted to post a few pics and get to know everyone! I spent some time cleaning her up, though this is by no means a professional restoration! This is a working tractor that Ive owed longer than my first born child! lol
Not shown attachments are a Haban H-48 blower, Haban 54" plow and 75lb wheel weights!

Thank You!!!!! Happy to be here!!!
Funny story...As a kid, I hopped the fence daily and pretty much lived at my neighbors house. They had a brand new 123..... that I basically did everything with! That started my love with Cub Cadet,,,and,,, they got their lawn mowed and driveway plowed for free by me!!! lololol
As I grew up, I never had use for a tractor of my own for many years. Once I did, the rest is history!
In 1991 I came accross this 982 that was traded in at a local mower shop. It came with the deck, weights and plow. If I remember correctly, I paid 1200.00 bucks for it.
Later, I found the Haban blower and the rest is history!

This is my first tractor and probably my last. Why??? Its an International Harvester Cub Cadet! Wont ever need anything else!!! lol

Great looking 982! Looking forward to some action shots of that working tractor. Great back ground story as well! When are you going to find you a 123 to add to your stable?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
