Default Do I deserve this?

https://dallas.craigslist.org/ftw/gr...273918300.html

Willing to give $450-500 for it.

I really like the old school stuff. Aware it likely needs a new clutch, not adj.

Original owner must have been a tall guy , I can see that!

My guess is current owner is overwhelmed by clutch rebuild prices. Just take that into consideration and look closely when you go see.

Down your way there's likely not a lot of these available.

I'd get it.

In my area, that would be $300 tops, but I understand that scarcity in markets is one factor that can affect selling/asking price. Looks like it is in overall nice shape, with little to no rust. Appears to be the earlier run of the 12 hp engine for IH, judging by the bent heat shield and the location of the dipstick.

After this virus epidemic, life's too short. Get it if that is what will bring some interest in your life and it is in your budget. The blade would be a nice bonus with it and the skinnies on the front will make steering a lot easier. Let us know if you add that to your collection and if you do get it, I hope you enjoy every minute with it!

Well, I passed on the oldie. It wasn't ready for prime-time and showed some hard use. The clutch was going to need a full job.

However, I did pick up a LT1045 for dirt cheap. Sadly, it won't move now. Will dig in as soon as I can get it off the trailer.

Did it roll when you put it on the truck? More than likely it is damaged beyond repair.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
