Default Creeper Gear assembly

Hello all,

i just got a Creeper gear with a new driveshaft and clutch and everything. all i need to make is the gasket and it will be good to go...does any one have any pictures of the actual installing the unit? im really confused on how to put it on. im thinking i have to split the tractor? also, what weight of gear oil should i put in it? i know this question has been asked before but i can't find any threads.

my 122 now has hydraulic lift, creeper gear, 3pt hitch, ags, wheel weights, lights and tri ribs. next thing on the list... new motor. haha.

Before you install it, I would check the condition of the bearing and the shift fork. If the creeper hasn't been rebuilt, I would put in a new bearing, seal, O-rings, etc. You don't want to have to pull it again to do that.

Can be found at your local Cub Cadet dealer or any Case/International Harvester dealer. Will be cheaper more than likely at a Case dealer. Only one weight, it looks like transmission fluid that goes into a car, but not the same thing. Everyone here will tell you, "do not" use anything else due to the water repellent properties of Hy-Tran. It keeps the internals coated and will not let water cause rust.

do you know if Tractor Supply would carry it? also, where and how much do you fill the creeper gear up with? i got the rear end off, and mounted the creeper and its ready to go. just needs fluid and i can put it back together.

No. As DX3 said, you will need to go to a CaseIH, Case, or Cub Cadet dealer to get it.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
