Question Rear PTO on an "Original"

Since i have come up with a blank in my search for any install instructions for the rear mount pto on an "original",would anyone have a picture of a rear pto installed on an original? mainly, the actuator lever position. where and how is it located on the rear end housing?where does the lever selector plate bolt up to? does the case have to be drilled? does the splined output shaft interfere with the top link of the 3 point lift knuckle? any help would be appreciated.....

Talking

Yes, just had forgotten that i had them saved to my "favorites". i should have "lumped" all the info links into one folder for ease in researching "possibilities". additionally, in looking up part #'s, i see that the pto assembly for the 70 and up, includes the mainshaft, but not the pto assy for the "o". is that to mean that the mainshaft in the "O"'s does not have to be replaced, and is ready to accept the pto shaft? i did see that all the part #'s for the pto assy for the "o" and the IH cub were identical rearward of the mainshaft. i hope so, being that i went to my friendly salvage yard honey hole and popped a complete pto assy out of a cub(less pto shield sleeve) for $50.00. i'll soon find out!!!

I am sorry I can't help you with a Rear PTO. I do not own a Cub with that option. I have never installed one and have no expertise in this arena.

I am sure there are members here that can assist you with your installation.

I have not done this, but I do know that you have to change the main shaft.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
