Had a two cubnutz came by yesterday to pick up some goods they bought from me.One fellow asked me"what's under the cover over there?" I uncovered the first restoration on a Cub I did in 04...he asked"is it for sale!?" "Nah...I better keep it". Hour later is still asking me how much for it! It stayed in the man cave when they left.

TractorkidPA, thats the best news I have seen today.
15 years old and can't wait to restore a Cub. Super! We need more youth involved in projects like this instead of eyes glued to a screen. Thats not saying a "screen" is wrong by any means, but hands on experience at your age will be knowledge that lasts a lifetime. Keep up the interest! Dave |

Great looking cub. Definitely a keeper for more than just obvious reasons!!
TractorkidPA---glad to hear your enthusiasm. In my area, some individuals your age will restore a cub (or old tractor) as part of their 4-H project experience. I didn't know if you was involved in 4-H.....just food for thought and it would look good on your resume down the road, not to mention you would have your first restored cub as a result. Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
