Default Small Engine Show in Portland, IN

I had a guy contact me today from the local Antique Tractor Club and he told me that the Small Engine Show in Portland, IN starts next Wednesday, 24th of August. He told me that this year the feature tractor is the Moline, so I hope that many of you can make it to this great event on one of the days......many of the vendors arrive on Wednesday and start packing up around noon or one o'clock on Saturday.

i went 2 years ago. What a great show!! HUGE to say the least. If you are anywhere near Portland IN, I highly reccommend going. Tons and Tons of parts for sale. It took us nearly 2 days to walk the whole show grounds and we didnt even go inside the exhibit buildings.

Someday I hope to go back. Sooner than later! Here are some pics that I took while I was there:

In order...A high-crop Cub Cadet 100.
Allis Chalmers D-21 with a diesel in it- One the best scale tractors I have ever seen.
A John Deere Red Patio 120 with matching patio 80 dump cart.
Finally, that good lookin guy is standing in front of a scaled down Peterbuilt on a Ford F-350 frame. Really cool conversion.

It is a really big show to say the least about it and there are all sorts of interesting people and equipment to view/buy!! If you can make it, then I suggest you come with a roll of cash because there are lots of great deals on parts, some hard to find, that you can acquire. Last year, I regret passing up on a Mars sweeper broom, intact and in excellent shape for $350 for my original cub (had its own smooth running engine as it was for the cubs built without the front pto)....but I used my $$ to purchase my peco leaf vac system ($60) and my tiller with extension and gear box ($225) along with several other items. Hoods for the 1x8 or 1x9 series were selling for $1, as well as nonweathered rear 8.5 ags mounted on good rims for $80, etc. If nothing else, come and meet Merk's dad and see his stretched red 149 mod---very well done!!! Hope to see some of you there...

It's a great show. I've been the last 2 years and I plan on going this year too.

Here's some pics I took a couple years ago at the show. You can see the scaled down semi in a couple of the pics. I know there's a couple green tractors but the details on the last one are amazing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
