You mean they dont offer a pick up and delivery service? I thought everyone did that. We only do it 1 day a week now in the off season but in the summer the truck runs 5 days a week 8 to 10 hrs a day.

Any MTD service center can do warenty work on it for you. Call around, or better yet call MTD and they will get you someone that will pick it up and pull it to the shop for ya.

Now whats it NOT doing?

Chris

I totaly understand. Best to keep it that way. Id call around to some more mower shops and see what they will do for ya. I dont know what mower you have, but if its a belt drive unit it can go anywhere. Heck Im working on a "Toro" at the shop now, that is nothing more than a troy bilt bronco with a differant hood on it. The spindels for it are around 105 and going threw our mtd suplier they are 75. If I was toro I would be ashamed to have put my name on that!

Belt drive are all about the same. Check your drive belt for cracks, if you have a small trans belt and a veratior, chek the trans belt. Loosen the drive belt off the 2 or 3 idles under the frame, you most times can roll the belt off the idlers, and check for noise in them. Ife replaced them with as little as 15 hrs on a mower. Check your deck pull the deck belt off and spin your spindels, listen for the berrings to see if they have noise. Also look at the shafts, be sure they are turning straight. If youve never hit anything, you sould be fine. Then sharpen the blades.

On the eng, you wanna chage the oil, 50 hrs, or once a year. I prefer once a year for the home owners. If you have a kohler courage, you want to look for oil leaks at the valve cover and on the sump under the flywheel schroud. Change a plug, whats 3 bucks these days, look at it make sure it was burning good. And I always check the air filter a few times a year. Thats just as important as checking the oil!

Some prices, we get about 120 bucks to change a drive belt, that includes the belt. On the ones with the veratior, a little more cause it has 2 drive belts.

Deck belt and sharpen we get about .75 in labor plus the cost of the belt. While the deck is off I sharpen the blades, grease the spindels if they are greasable, clean the deck, and check all the idles on the deck, reinstal and check the level.

Just an oil change and grease, is like 30 bucks. Thats 2 qts of oil and a filter, grease the wheels axle, ad deck.

We do a compleate service with pick up and del for 190. Then if you need more work, drive belt most times, theres a huge savings to the cust on the labor rate.

Hope this helps, Vince

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
