I'm getting the Extreme 3pt hitch for my Super and I want to use a tiller but have no rear PTO... Has anyone ever used the self powered tillers you see on CL or EPAY?? 8-12hp...
Most of them are 36" so may have to add a tine or two.... Also was toying with the idea of making my own 3pt tiller out of a 'Donor" front tine platform... Anyone every tackle this idea??? Randy |

if you can, try to find a sears tiller. they used their own power source (usually a 4 to 8hp briggs and stratton) and used a 3pt hitch setup similar to one made for the super cub cadets. that may work for you.

Yep I seen a Cub on EPAY and it was 32 or 36 wide....I can always put a bigger powerplant on it if I need to extend the tiles since the super is a bit wider...I think I need 42 inches to clear....
Will keep the eyes open.. Thanks Randy |

For less than the price of a tiller, you can keep the garden buried in composted mulch.

High, my old 125 hydro came with a rear tiller that is powered by the mower clutch and a longer belt. You have to take the deck off and run the belt back to a gearbox that is mounted on the axle inspection cover and a belt go's to the tiller gearbox.

Tony,
I'm looking for my one for my Super...Had that setup on my 1650. Since rear PTO's are hard to come by for an 1872 I am putting a 3pt setup on and a Cat 0 tiller that is self powered. Thanks |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
