Been a while, need advice on a idea.
Hello all, its been awhile since I've been on here, too busy working on other IH projects and farming!!!.
I have a 25hp Briggs and Stratton vertical shaft engine out of a newer plastic junk cub cadet that is basically scrap now. The engine is in great shape and I wonder if I could do a cool re-power in a Cub Cadet!!! I have three Cub Cadet that could be recipients of this motor. They are a 107, 1200, and a 1711. I wonder if I could run a belt from the engine to a 90 degree gearbox that would be attached to the tranny input shaft. I think this might work but I'd like advice on how to accomplish this. Id like to spend as little money on this as possible while doing it right. Thanks for any input!

The only reason Id like to do this is because I already have this engine and I'd hate to scrap a good motor...

I'd hate to see a tractor modified for that.....
Go find you a regular old run-of-mill mower with a bad motor. You can pick them up for $50. Put the motor in it, sell it, then take the money and go buy a K series and put that back in. Then you don't scrap a motor, and you get a cub up and running the right way.  Where you at in Illinois?

Get a CC lawn tractor, easy swap being belt drive, imagine a 25hp 76 or a 1330 swapped (but I'd go gear drive not hydro) or even better an IH rear engine rider modified to fit the big twin
