Hello,
Hope I'm not posting out of place. However, just thought I'd drop a note to alert/remind anyone in the area that there is a plowday scheduled for October 30. The TN plowday is in Athens, TN. Open to all types of garden tractors. http://www.mayfieldfarmandnursery.com Steven C. Nashville, TN nashcub1@yahoo.com

Steven,
The good Lord willing and the creek dont rise, I will be attending along with 3 other cub nuts. We're staying at that RV park. Will be getting up there Friday afternoon. Have you ever been to this event?

David,
Unless something unavoidable comes up, I will definitely be there! I know of one other person from this area that is going. Hope that I am able to get a few more to come along for the ride. I have not been to this event before. Furthermore, I have very little plowing time logged on any of my Cubs. I'm really looking forward to meeting some new people at the plow day, and learning the finer points of how to properly use my plows. I'm definitely bringing my 782. However, I might also bring one of the QL's for a few laps. Not sure if I will come down sometime Friday afternoon, or early Saturday morning. It would be nice to not have to make the drive in the morning. I will have to look more into getting there Friday. ![]() Regardless, we will have to meet up in person because I have some 2072 SGT parts for Chip T. that you are taking back to NC with you! Talk to you soon! Steven Nashville, TN nashcub1@yahoo.com |

Plow day was really awesome! Thats an understatement. You could not have asked for any prettier weather. The soil conditions were really good. Maybe 2-4 days more to dry out would have been ok too. The plows had some leftover dirt at the end of the row.
14 garden tractors started the day off with about 3 more coming in later in the day. Great turnout for the 1st ever plowday at that show. Had a beautiful field to turn over. You'll notice in the background of some of the pics, that there are some pumpkins lying on the ground. It was not a pumpkin growing field, just a "pumpkin patch". The owners of the Mayfield Dairy, Scottie and Michael Mayfield, were excellent hosts and a gentlemen named Elliott had a lot to do with arrainging this event that went over so well There was one breakdown all day and it was a Cub but he got back going and kept us aliveGuys came from Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and one Deere guy came down from Ohio. That was his 8th state to plow in. I think thats awesome! Ill go back to that PD in a heartbeat next year. The RV park we stayed overnight in was EXTREMLY nice and accomodating and only $22.00 per night with hook ups and a bath house. You cant beat that with a stick. Enjoy these few pics here but i recommend you follow my link to my photobook album. I think i have 70 pics from the plowday. Thats a lot to post on here. Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
