Default Drive shaft

My 1200 has an awful vibration and it appears to be the drive shaft. It doesn't seem to be rotating correctly. As if it is bent. Is this possible? Or is it more likely another part in that region. Man does my tractor have a bad vibration. And I did replace the motor mounts. I have a shaft from a 108, will that work?

Yes it is quite possible. Where do you see the driveshaft rotateing off centre? If it's in the middle it Is probably bent, but it is posible the rag joints on the back are split on one side, or the bushing on the three pin driver is shot

I replaced the rag joint. Ya, it appears that it is out of center toward the middle because even the spring appears of center. See, the previous owner round this baby hard until the drive plate for the clutch sheared in the center.

You probably need to remove the driveshaft, clutch , and all the couplers and take a good look at them all.. Take the clutch assembly completely apart with appropriate compressor tools, and replace all your commonly wearing parts and the roll pins. Lubricate where needed on assembly too.. While the driveshaft itself is out and bare, roll it on a flat surface and see if it is in fact bent. ALso check the ends for play in their respective bushings... if you see noticeable wear on the ends it will be worthwhile to replace as every but of wear translates in to running off center and vibration.

This can be an expensive project if you start to need couplers and bushings... Good luck!

I doubt the 108 shaft will be the same, I don't think they use the same connectors at the ends, but I could be wrong..
