Default Hello from MN

Hello been driving Cub Cadets since I was young. Just got a new to me 3165 with front hitch, blade, mower deck, chains, 4 weights and CC branded yard cart.

When I was real young we had an Original CC that I don't remember. Dad traded that for a red 682. Too bad, that Original went right into the dealership owners personal collection. I put a lot of hours on the 682 mowing. Then that went away for a 2185 that dad still has, but doesn't use. When it was my Mom or I mowing 48 inch deck was enough. When my mom had her knee rebuilt and I was out of the house dad took over the mowing. About one hour into a 6 hour mow, dad disappeared. Came back an hour later with a brand new CaseIH farmall 35 with 72in deck..

Thanks All. Only a member for one day and now I have two cub cadets. Just bought this today for the snowblower and the Sims cab that is in really nice condition. The tractor 3185 barely runs but it has cat0 3pt hitch.

Any tips or ideas on the cab install please let me know. I'll plan to install on my 3165 tomorrow.

I think I bought it right.

Nice catch on the second load. If you have trouble with installing that Sims cab, you might have to reach out to Sims for that information.

The new to me 3165 moved it's first significant snow this AM. And I have most of the new wiring done. Still need to wire in the rear lights. Found a nice box with 6 circuits.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
