Got a few things done on the 147
Well it's been some time since I purchaced the 147, and thought I would bring you all up to date.
So far, fixed the steering by putting new steering knuckles on. Replaced the wiring harness, fixed the dash as good as I could, being I never worked with fiberglass before. The corner was worn off on the right side as well as a hole on the bottom facing the seat, I have no idea how that would have gotten there. I know I have a few little holes where I used the filler over the fiberglass, but for a working tractor, that's ok with me. I repaired the fenders, again as good as I could. There was a big time dent in the center as well as the left corner, (that's some tough tins) pounded out and pulled the dents till I could use the filler without putting it on thick. I then put on my 3pt. that I think is from a wide frame, but not sure. I got the U shaped piece from a buddy that was laying around and not being used and he had no idea what it came off of. But then another friend that is a machinest built the part that's bolted to the tractor and lift straps, that are plenty heavy. The lift was already on the tractor, so now I have an electric lift tractor for my plow and cultivator. Lastly, today I put on the tail lights, there not a perfect fit, but then again, nothing on it is. But they do work. So that's everything so far. Oh yah, it runs good too!

I like the work on the lift,Even the original tailights never seem to cover up those holes.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
