Default Cub Cadet 169 restoration.

I'm restoring a 169 for a friend and you guys can tag along on my adventure. Here's a short walk around video i made just to show its condition, since making this video it has been determined that i will be rebuilding the engine. My friend is also a new member here, his screen name is RLSpearman so if you see him posting be sure to give him a warm welcome.

Is this going through your shop, or a side project? I know, so many questions...
It will be coming completely apart and it will get new bolts when going back together, this will be a working tractor when it's done. This is a side project.

If it's going to be a worker, I'd put hydraulic lift on it for sure. Easy while it is apart.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
