Ags on 169
Hi all-
Been a minute since I been here; hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. Looking to update the rear tires on my 169 to ags. I really like the Firestones. My concern is what is the biggest tire I can run without concerns of rubbing on my 50" mower deck? I believe the current tires are 23x10.50x12. I found this pic on the internet and love the look and stance but I am not qualified to even guess the size. Any help is greatly appreciated 😊 |

Those are my photos. I replied to your PM. I'm not 100% familiar with that mower deck but I think they'll fit.

Dan I saw your post/pics earlier on the Red Power forum and wanted to ask what those rear tires are too. I think I'm going to give my yellow/white 782 some love and a new set of tires like those would be great.

Here are some more photos. I use this tractor to plow with and mow. I have zero complaints about performance. I love the look of them. They don't tear up my yard while mowing and pull excellent while plowing. I grew up with Dad's 125 having firestone 8.5 ags so it wasn't a question which look I knew I wanted mine to have. I'd never hesitate to buy another pair again if I wanted AG tires for my other tractor(s). They are 23x10.5-12 tires on 10.5 rims. (I have another set of wheels with turfs and chains that I used to swap out when I used to push snow in the winter.) I got them from ME Miller tire in Wauseon Ohio. My family has been using them for years and they are our/my tractor tire supplier.
EDIT: the cubrat needs paint. I have to go through it again in more detail rebuilding the engine and replacing worn parts before I can paint it. I wanted to get good tins on it first and this is the stage it's presently in.

Thanks for sharing . I need to find a set of 10.5" rims then - this way I can keep the ags for summer and the turfs and chains for winter. Any leads ? |

That's exactly what I did.
Post a wanted ad on this forum. I got mine from John Bolens (SP?) out of Illinois. There are a handful of people that have salvage yards, there might be one in your area. I lean on Scott Urschel out of New Haven Indiana for a lot of my parts. If you are on Facebook look at marketplace.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
