Default Hand held tach

Hey everybody.
Has anyone ever seen a Hand held tach like this? For those who dont know, you hold it against the end of the crankshaft to check the R.P.M. of your engine. This one is one my grandpa had. I would like to find another like it. Havent had much luck. I did find one that has the dial on the end. This one is nice because it is readable from the side. The only markings on this one is a (AC) on the end. No other numbers or anythig on it anywhere. Thanks.

That's pretty neat...never saw one you could read from the side. I have an old Stewart Warner hand held tachometer that I use. Has a dial and needle on the front though.

Thanks guys!
edw, My brother is 13 years older than me and said the same thing. He remembered grandpa having this in the 50's. Its really been a handy tool over the years for checking and setting your R.P.M.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
