I got the tractor Cub Cadet 102 running
For the past few weekends, since Friday August 11th 2018 from to Saturday September 15th, 2018, I have been going down to my family’s cabin property and working on the 1967ish International Harvester Cub Cadet 102 Garden Tractor. Every Friday and Saturday since August 11th and now the tractor runs after sitting for 10 plus years. I’m happy to say the new gaskets for the carburetor worked out for it and it runs wonderfully. I have been happy to see the tractor running again from when I was about 5 years old, the last time I saw it running. Now at the age of 15 going on 16 in October, I’m glad to have tinkered with it to get it running. Here is a picture of me riding the tractor down the logging road from the tractor shed to the main cabin.

Congratulations !!
May you always enjoy the satisfaction of a job well done. Wished there were more young people like you. Too many with little or no interest in mechanical things. |

Congrats! Tell us a bit about what you had to do to get it running.
I'm sure you will find lots of uses for the 102 around the cabin property.

thanks and I will in an upcoming post. I just want to get the trailer for the tractor fixed as well so I can finally say a true end to working on the tractor project. I just need new tires and a grease gun but hey it just takes time especially if I'm going to the cabin right after I get out of school every Friday this month and until the winter sets in.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
