Snow Plow Angle Mechanism
I have attached some pics of a snowplow angle mechanism that I saw on a Simplicty lawn tractor. Most impressive parts of the mechanism are the following:
1.) when the operator pushes forward on the angle rod the angle lock mechanism temporarily unlocks; and 2.) when the angle rod is rotated, the plow angle rotates. This is all accomplished with manual mechanical method (no electrics nor hydraulics used). Does anybody have any experience with this type of angle mechanism? |

I was have trouble editing. Instead, a 2nd posting on same subject.
I have attached a parts schematic (as one more pic) obtained from Jack's Small Engines. See: https://az417944.vo.msecnd.net/diagr...de/diagram.gif |

I was hoping to fabricate a similar setup for the snow plows on my CC100 and CC122.

The problem is that IH built Push Blades have a "pull up" pin that needs to be lifted to angle the blade.

Good point!! Which means I would be probably better off finding a Simplicity plow blade and mating it to my NF CCs. Clearly this project is going to take time.

I’ve started working on an angle mechanism for my blade. So far, I figured out how to convert the vertical pin to a sideways pull setup that will be actuated by a bike brake cable or choke cable.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
