Default Great Site

Just purchased a 124 w/deck that wouldn't start for $260. I believe it's in the electrical system as the spark at the plug was barley visible.
Anyways I bought it mostly to pull a wagon around with my 16 mo. old GRANDSON (Casey) in it. Will also use it to mow and work in the garden plus getting stuff done around the farm. I did a search and didn't find any other 124's, went thru all the readers pics and saw none so here is a few of my new toy. I'm not going to "restore" it I'm going fix it up and use it!
Is there a chart showing what years each model was produced? Oh yeah...all ready used the site to buy 2 new front tires. Fill

Just ran across "Matt's Cub Cadet Page", lot of good info there. Found out that the 124 is a 1968 vintage. So scratch that question.
I've got a "68 Jeepster Commando I'm rebuilding, my wife's got a '68 Vw convertible that I'm putting a new engine and tranny in and I graduated in '68.Ahhh the good ol' days.Who says you can't go back. Now if I can just get them all going again before I kick the bucket. Guess that makes them my "bucket list".

Fill,
Welcome! NICE tractor. I have it's little brother a 104. And I love it. You have a lot of Cub there.. headlights, 3 point, weights.. and even though your seat has a rip... you still got the original to work with. I think you got one heck of a bargain.

Glad you are finding the info you need. There is a lot of it here.
If you happen to get stuck on somthing, Just ask. Someone will be along to try and help.

I agree with RPalmer, with all the extras you have already on this tractor that was quite a bargin.

Thanks for the comments. I found an old 40" International Cadet tiller that is belt drive but that is all the info he has on it other than not all rusted out. My question is; was there different model tillers or is this one likely to fit my 124.
I just noticed that the rear wheels have weights on both the inside and outside. Is this common or did I get an extra bonus set.
Guess I should start posting my questions in the appropriate sections. Next time.
I'm looking forward to getting it going this weekend. Decided to put this at the top of my list of projects, at least right after I make the feeders for my turkeys. I'm looking forward to the chance to haul my young grandson around to feed the pigs, chickens and beef cows. Some of my fondest memoirs were of riding on my uncles lap on his Farmall H.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
