Starting fresh - 1772 turbo diesel build.
There still seems to be interest in this turbo project so i'll start a new thread with the new turbo and hopefully no drama.
So I ditched the K03 for Garrett GT1241. this turbo is rated for engines from 400cc - 1200cc making the Kubota D640 a great match up. so far I have made a new adapter plate to mate the exhaust manifold to the turbo. the adapter includes the mount for the fan belt too. I have a new oil supply line made from 1/4'' copper. now i'm fighting with the oil drain line. on the old set up i used a 3/8 copper tube to a rubber hose to the drain in the engine block. this gt12 is pretty compact and the oil supply and oil drain from the turbo are both located on the bottom making running two lines next to each other a challenge. i've been looking into flexible steel tubing as an alternative to copper. although im unsure if the steel will bend enough for my needs. another option is silicone tubing but i do have to watch the heat from the exhaust manifold. its extremely close. also, does anyone know what the oil pressure of the d640 is at idle and WOT? i need to make sure i dont put to much pressure to the turbo. there are oil restrictors available if i need to reduce the pressure. feel free to comment but lets make sure to keep it on topic.

Using copper tubing on a vibrating engine can cause it to work harden and crack. Steel line may be a better idea.

Ken,
Nice looking fabrication work!! The oil pressure on the D640 in my 1782 can get as high as 80 psi when it is cold... after it warms up it is about 30psi at hot idle and 50 psi at full throttle when hot... hope this helps!

i went with the copper pressure line for a few reasons. first off the line is about a 1/2'' from the exhaust manifold where it can get pretty hot. the copper is easy to bend around all the obstacles and the fittings are compression style so it makes it easy to connect everything. maybe once its all done ill go with steel and use the copper line as a template.

Not really sure about the oil pressure. I like braided steel line for oil pressure lines. That mounting flange is sweet! Looks good so far!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
