1440 total power loss
Hi all,
Hope im posting this in the right place... so i recently acquired a 1440 barn fresh, brought it home and with a new battery and fuel lines(and a fair share of ether) she started purring like a kitten. Fast forward a week and my fuel shutoff valves started leaking, when to my local implement and replaced the valves, finally i got the prime back and running fine, ten minutes later she shut down and has no dash lights, motor wont crank. No click out of fuel solenoid. Absolutley stumped! Any pointers?? Thanks in advance for any help

Standard drill. Check the battery connections, ground, wires on the solenoid, ignition switch..... work from the battery forward to see where you have power and were you don't. If wiring isn't your thing, and you need to cut grass, find a shop.

There is a fuse holder on the battery tray by the starter solenoid. Check the fuse.

As I understand it, the engine won't roll over....correct..?? In order for the engine to roll over, (A) Someone has to be sitting in the seat, (B) The PTO Switch has to be in the OFF position, and (C) the Brake Pedal (Neutral Safety Switch) has to be depressed. Then the Ignition Switch should roll the engine over........IF.....All the wiring is correct and intact, All devices are functioning correctly, and lastly, the 20A fuse is intact.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
