Kohler Command 15 OHV
Trying to find more info about the engine in my HDS 2155. Most of the info I find is about the Command PRO 15, I can’t find anything about the Command 15 OHV in this model tractor. Are they the same thing?
I’ve read the Command is considered a “commercial” line of engines, is that true as well? Just trying to get more info on this engine and it’s reliability. Thanks |

This is what it rolled out of the Factory with...
NOTE: The spec number should read 44523. Kohler ID's it as.." Command Pro Single "

Ok that model number helps a lot. So it’s just a plain ol’ Command, not the Command Pro, it seems. I don’t know the difference between the two, but I’m just glad to have a Kohler regardless. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I swear Kohler engines sound better than B&S? Or rather it just sounds “different” in a good way?

My HDS 2155 had a Kohler Command not a Pro , the difference is not great , larger oil , air and fuel filter , platinum spark plug , High efficiency Fan and screen , and a power bore cylinder
I ran platinum plug and a larger fuel and oil filter in my old 2155 and a mate has it and 22 years later it still runs strong Oz

This one has 422 hours on it and runs pretty good. I plan on doing a full tune up on it next spring (oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, spark plug, oil change). Combined with a hydrostatic filter change and I should be good for a while with this tractor (I hope)!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
